Self-Portrait Along the Borderline
Directed by Anna Dziapshipa · GE, 2026 · 78 min · original language with English subtitles
Through a family archive, a filmmaker traces her Georgian-Abkhazian identity across a border that runs through her name.
Dziapshipa’s grandfather was a celebrated Abkhazian footballer; her surname is now a checkpoint she cannot cross. Assembling home movies, propaganda and the sounds of an abandoned family house, she builds a self-portrait from a war’s leftover images.
